.THE WORDS disinformation and false information are actually frequently used mutually. But there is a refined distinction in their definition. Disinformation is when misleading information is spread out with the intent to trick, typically as component of a co-ordinated project.
False information is when incorrect information is accidentally spread out, for instance by repeating a rumour to a good friend or reposting an unsubstantiated insurance claim on a social-media system.
